What does a person feel when the very concept of “homeland” is absent?
Since birth — strangely enough — I’ve always felt like an outsider. I was born in a very unusual place, at the crossroads of cultures: the United Arab Emirates.
I was surrounded by people of many nationalities, blending into a vibrant palette of striking contrasts. That palette only grew richer when I moved to Ukraine — specifically to its most multicultural region, Zakarpattia, in the town of Mukachevo — and later to Valencia, Spain.
Everywhere I went, people asked: Who are you? Where are you from?
And I never quite knew how to answer — my family is multicultural too.
Every move, every journey around the world was not just an exploration of the outer world, but also a deep dive into the inner one — my ikigai.
These spiritual searches, reflected through the prism of the outer world, finally came together — and that’s how NAITHOS was born.
